Alec Ellison

  • 29 years as an investment banker covering technology at Morgan Stanley (analyst), M&A specialist Broadview International (President at time of acquisition by Jefferies in 2003)  and Jefferies (led the technology group).  
  • Experience beyond technology includes co-heading Jefferies’ investment bank, serving on firm-wide Executive Committee  and chairing cross-industry Fairness Committee for 7 years.
  • Prolific speaker and commentator regarding major technology trends and technology capital markets.  
  • B.A. from Yale (summa cum laude) with a double major in Economics and History. M.B.A. from Harvard Business School (Baker Scholar).

David Barse

  • 25 years as a senior executive starting, building and running an asset mgmt. business and affiliated broker/dealer at Third Avenue Management.  Built AUM from under $100 million and a single fund to a peak of $30 billion with multiple funds distributed globally; Led strategic distressed investments and sale of a business to AMG.   
  • Additional experience includes: running a public insurance holding company with significant tax attributes; acquiring the largest energy-from-waste business out of bankruptcy and forming Covanta Energy Company (a billion dollar NYSE company).  Frequent speaker/commentator on financial markets, asset mgmt. business and distressed investing.  
  • B.A. From George Washington University (Honors) with a major in Political Science and minor in Philosophy.  J.D. From Brooklyn Law School.    

Robert Jackman

  • Over 20 years working with companies of scale in the technology, media and telecom sectors. Most recently Chairman and CEO of ooVoo – the world’s largest provider of social video chat for millennials. Built ooVoo into one of the most successful mobile communication applications with over 170 million registered users. 
  • Prior to ooVoo, served as co-head of Mergers and Acquisitions for the Technology, Media and Telecom Group at Jefferies. 
  • Additional experience as a practicing lawyer associated with Sullivan Cromwell in New York. 
  • BA from the University of Southern California, a JD from Columbia Law School, and Master’s Degrees from the University of Kentucky and Yale Law School.
